Details
Jennifer has worked in private practice since 2008 and specialises in treating anxiety and complex trauma in adults. She is particularly interested in assisting adults with anxiety, and those coping with trauma, and related emotion dysregulation (e.g. addiction issues/ substance use disorders, self-harm behaviours, problematic eating patterns) as well as people experiencing major life changes (e.g. relationship breakdown, loss of job, bereavement). Due to her past research, she has insight into how perfectionism relates to difficulties people experience such as anxiety and depression. She has experience working with individuals with Thrichotillomania, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder amongst other conditions.
She uses various treatment approaches including:- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness/ Acceptance Based Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She also has experience in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Family of Origin work, and attachment therapy.
She has assisted with the development and implementation of a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program. DBT is a comprehensive treatment approach for people who struggle to regulate their emotions.
Jenny works collaboratively with her clients to maintain a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. She is respectful, warm, compassionate, and is dedicated to the well-being of her clients, often going above and beyond to help them through their challenges.

Jenny has completed Level 1 and 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses these skills in Couples Therapy.

The Macquarie University Anxiety Research Unit (MUARU), now the Centre for Emotional Health (CEH). Centre for Emotional Health researchers concentrate on the understanding, treatment and prevention of anxiety, depression and related mental health problems. Internationally renowned for their research into anxiety, including several ‘world-first’ findings, they have a special focus on children and families but also conduct research that focuses on emotional disorders and wellbeing across the lifespan.

She was involved in projects providing treatments for adult social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, and panic disorder as well as childhood anxiety groups and teenage anxiety and depression groups as well as a program for HSC stress in adolescents.

Her doctoral thesis looked at the relationship between perfectionism and anxiety in children and their parents.
